Ash's Story...
Ash is a cute little girl of mixed heritage. She has a little Chihuahua, a pinch of Pug with a sprinkle of Dachshund. It is reported that Ash is house trained and leash trained, but not crate trained. She does have some anxiety during fireworks and thunderstorms so will need some reassurance during those times. Her previous owner said she is good with other dogs, but likes to bark at them upon introduction. She has lived with a Mastiff/Lab who was her best friend. Ash is a little timid here in the Rescue, but is warming up quick with volunteers. In a home of her own, once she is comfortable and feeling safe, we believe she will be the life of the party. She does know sit and stay commands, and she loves to sleep under the blankets. She is also known to sit up like a prairie dog.

If you want to apply for Ash click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Valley Humane Society. Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ash, a Meridian Chihuahua/Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Pug for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Chihuahua/Pug dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Pug breeders who help with Chihuahua/Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
