I’m a pretty smart pup, so I’m working on a degree in puppy love. In fact, I’m writing my thesis on how to become the perfect pooch. Here’s a sample: The perfect pooch comes not only from within the puppy, but from within the heart of the companion or human. The puppy is a mostly blank slate; yes, genes and DNA play a role, but overall a puppy is a loving, shapeable creature that knows only the theory of E.P.P.L.P. (Eat Poo Pee Love Play). Therefore the human must show much compassion, care, patience, and love— the latter being of utmost importance. The human must show the pup the proper place to drop a deuce. The human must gently teach that a remote control is not a chew toy and neither is a car’s seat cushion. Then the human must stop being a master and become a teacher and companion—that is key for both parties to find true happiness. What do you think? Will I get an A+?
