WOW what can be said about Scrubbles other than he is the perfect cat-cat!  Scrubbles had a precarious start to life:  he was shoved into a paper sack and tossed into a dumpster to die.  Scrubbles battled adversity and rebounded with enthusiasm.  He will be your dog’s best friend - if they do not mind their tail being used as a chew toy.  Scrubbles is a feisty six year old who relishes his daily strolls on the leash and chasing a feather toy.  He has a huge personality and has become the front office star.  Scrubbles is looking for a home that will provide him with all the attention he deserves.  He needs a home without other cats, but do not worry Scrubbles has more than enough personality to satisfy that cat-shaped place in your heart.  Come meet this handsome fellow; he is your champion.

About Sequoia Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Sequoia Humane Society is a small 501(c)3 non-profit with the mission of providing shelter and humane care for animals while working vigorously to reduce the tragedy of euthanasia caused by too many animals, not enough homes. Our goals are to promote the welfare of all animals, prevent cruelty and suffering of animals, end the overpopulation of cats and dogs, keep animals with homes from becoming homeless, and find homes for all adoptable animals. The Sequoia Humane Society has been helping companion animals for over 30 years. For the past 20 years we have operating a shelter for homeless animals, and in July 2004 we became a "no-kill" shelter. In addition to our adoption services we provide low-cost spay/neuter vouchers to qualified low-income residents, and promote responsible pet ownership through our public outreach and education programs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Sequoia Humane Society's Pet Adoption Center is located at 6073 Loma Avenue, just east of the King Salmon exit, on the south end of Eureka, California. We are open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5pm. We sponsor special events every month throughout the year, including Woofstock and Mutt Strut.

Our Adoption Process...

We invite people to tour our facility or visit us online and look at all the dogs and cats that are available for adoption. If you are interested in a particular animal you can fill out an application, and one of our adoption counselors will talk with you about the type of animal you are looking to adopt and how well it fits with your lifestyle. After visiting with the animal we ask you to sign an adoption contract. You will be given the animal's full medical history, a free month of Shelter Care Pet insurance, a collar and ID tag, plus a pet carrier for cats and a leash for dogs. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworm & lymes disease (dogs) or feline leukemia & AIDS (cats), and microchipped.
