Fern's Story...
This lovely lady is Fern. She is a bundle of energy and love! She would be great in any home, she loves dogs cats and kids!
She came to us today from Charles city county animal control, and was a owner surrender.

She is a 3 month old, dachshund lab mix and will be pretty small! She has the body of a dachshund and the energy and personality of a lab! She has those soulful eyes of a lab too :) She will be about 15-20 lbs full grown.

She is believed to be crate trained. She has done great so far, she needs some work with leash training! She is not used to it at all. But she loves to get a bath!! She loves water.

* we will post more information about her soon.

She is heading to the vet now to get current on age appropriate vaccines and she will be dewormed. We did see some round worms in her poop, so we will have a fecal done also.

There is an adoption application/contract and adoption fee of $125

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fern, a Hampton Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever for sale in Hampton, or seeking a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Hampton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hampton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hampton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Dachshund/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hampton paves the way for another one to be saved.
