As older guys go, I’m as sweet as they come. I love attention, and I love just sitting with people and being lazy. The nice people who take care of me here found me wandering around in pretty bad shape. They know that I had an owner before because I had a collar on and I was already about four years old. They’re not sure how I was treated but the guess is that I was treated pretty badly since my collar was so tight they had to cut it off, and I also have a few other injuries that make it clear that I’ve been hurt a lot. If you would like to be the start of a happy new life for me, I know I would make the best furry friend you could hope for!!

About Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic and Ranch

About Our Shelter...

The Humane Society of Greater Jupiter/Tequesta d/b/a Furry Friends was founded in 1985 and was the second humane organization in the state of Florida to open a low-cost spay / neuter hospital. With between 7-10 million animals a year being killed in our nation’s shelters, Furry Friend's mission first and foremost has always been to reduce the over population of unwanted pets in our community. We do not believe that euthanasia is the answer to dealing with the pet over population crisis. Our charitable hospital offers low-cost spay / neuter services. We have sterilized over 75,000 animals over the past 24 years, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born and thousands more from being needlessly destroyed.

A few years after establishing the charitable hospital, Furry Friends opened one of the only true no-kill shelters in South Florida. The shelter reserves it’s space for animals who have been abused, neglected, injured and abandoned. We are a charity surviving on donations alone, and our capacity is limited. For the welfare of the resident animals, we cannot exceed our capacity. Cages are not vacated by routine euthanasia. They become available only through adoption.
