My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh hello! It’s me, Nena! I am a sleek and elegant lady with a slender build, long legs, and beautiful soul-gazing eyes. I often receive compliments on my striking good looks and, more importantly, for my gentle and trusting nature. Once you get to know me though, I have a super goofy side!

My friends at 911 Dog and Cat Rescue pulled me from a noisy, crowded, overwhelming municipal shelter where I was afraid of my own shadow at times. Lucky for me, I have been living in a foster home for a couple of months now and I am thriving! I live with a doggie foster brother who I love to play and snuggle with (check out the video of us!) and a cat who I couldn’t care less about. My foster parents work full-time and I am a perfect little angel snoozing in my crate all day after a walk in the morning, a visit from the dog walker mid-day, and play time with my doggie foster brother in the evenings. I would do wonderfully in a multi-dog household. I am a fairly low-energy dog inside the house, although outside I love to play and I am a fantastic running/jogging buddy. Both of my foster parents are endurance runners and I've helped both of them train for their races with distances as long as 10 miles - I love it! My foster parents have fostered many dogs and they say that I have the best leash manners of all! Go me!

Because I am a bit of a shy gal when you first meet me, I'm looking for a home that will understand that about me and let me take it slow for the first few days. That's all it will take though - when my foster family has had weekend guests we're best friends by the end of their stay! I've never really interacted with children but it's possible that their sudden, darting movements and loud sounds could startle me. Dog-savvy, respectful kids and I would probably be best friends though - am truly a gentle sweetheart.

Thank you for reading all about me – I hope to meet you soon!
