Rusty is currently in a training program called New Leash on life. He is learning basic commands and agility. Cheasapeake Bay Retriever Flat Coated - 4 yr old neutered male
Very friendly, playful, affectionate and HOUSETRAINED!!
Rusty grew up in a loving home, but unfortunately his owners had to give him up
due to financial hardship. In addition to being very handsome, he is excellent
with adults and children, and loves car rides. His favorite game is playing frisbee.
He is fine with other dogs but not very playful with them - he prefers his frisbee!
Highly intelligent, Rusty is learning his obedience cues and manners quickly, and
has a very strong recall.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Greencastle Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever for sale in Greencastle, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog from a breeder in Greencastle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greencastle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greencastle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greencastle paves the way for another one to be saved.
