My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Susie Q: 4- 5 month old female Brown Spotted Bengal mix
Standard Adoption Fee of $175 applies

SUSIE Q
1 to 2 yr old Female, Brown Spotted Bengal Mix

This girl is very special. She combines unusual athleticism with a super human loving nature. She has a huge exuberance for life; the world is her toy. She never met a feather she didn’t like. She has probably never met anything she didn’t like. She is friendly with other cats. Unless she is over dominated, she will probably be the alpha cat. She is confident and good natured.

She is still growing but she will not be a big cat. Most Bengals are not as large as people seem to expect them to be. The females especially can be quite small. We are calling Susie a Bengal mix but she has a number of Bengal characteristics physically, and certainly she has the energy and athleticism. Her tail is unusual. It is an acceptable Bengal trait to have a short tail, a 3/4 tail. Short tails show up in the Bengal show ring, but her tail has something I have never seen which is a twist in the fur pattern. The dark stripe, typically down the very top, rotates around the tail. You can see it in the photographs. Very unusual. Her coat is a little fuzzier than most Bengals so that indicates her probably mixed heritage. I particularly find her creamy spotted tummy enticing.

Susie is a very playful, happy, fun cat. She loves attention. I have seen her be very tolerant of children. She loves chasing feathers and doing flips. She loves playing with other cats and running sprints. What is most special, though, is that she has a loving, cuddly heart. She is a big little sweetheart, a confirmed lap cat. (We are all smitten with her!) With her lively intelligence and spirited interest in life, she will make some family a wonderful companion.

Susie could probably fit in a number of types of adoptive homes. She will need a home that will carefully keep her inside. I expect with her inquisitive nature, she would go out an open door. That means a home that has, or plans to have, small children, would not be good for her. I also would not put her around a very dominant young male Bengal. Bengals play very hard with each other and I think she, like many female Bengals, is too small to hold her own. If she came to know, and like, a dog, I expect they would have great fun playing together. She would enjoy a happy, busy family or one with humans home a lot. She needs a stimulating environment. She would like to sleep in bed with you.

Some lucky family will have great fun with her.

She eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
