Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When a Farfel's volunteer first met Cody, she was struck first by his cuteness...how could you not be? His curious and very affectionate personality (so typical of a happy and well-socialized puppy) became the entertainment of the day...so funny and cute that you just had to periodically hug him. We were all very glad that he wouldn't remember the terrible challenges of his youngest days...Code Red at a dreary shelter. As hope seemed to fade away for Cody, Farfel's got a call that three 10-week old Golden puppies were very urgent. Through the love and immediate action of rescuers in Texas, Cody and his siblings were saved at the very last second. From that second forth, Cody has been nothing but a delight! He's learning so quickly and understanding that the world can be a very positive place. Cody currently weighs 11.8 lbs with a projected full-grown weight of approximately 40 - 50 lbs.
We are searching for the most loving home for this exceptional guy so he learns positive skills resulting in a strong bond with his family. We would also like a home where the family is present...it can be a retired couple or individual who has the energy and patience for a young pup. Or a family with children that choose to include their pet in their daily lives. Since Cody will require training to mold him into a great and bonded adult companion, we feel strongly about puppy socialization classes and later Obedience I to promote good behavior and peaceful relationships with humans and dogs. It's also important that Cody is given mental stimulation and lots of exercise. It's never too early to start teaching leash manners on the incredible trails of Colorado....this will develop Cody into a fit and stable companion.
Texas vets feel that Cody is too young to be neutered. Farfel's will be happy to take responsibility for Cody's neutering and microchipping after he arrives in Colorado and when he's about 18 weeks old.
Cody has a baby coat that with great nutrition and periodic baths/brushing will become the gorgeous and cottony-soft coat of the adult Golden. We can't identify another breed present in Cody... but can't commit that he's a purebred Golden Retriever.
Cody will arrive on transport in Denver on 10/11. If interested in this fun-loving and very sweet puppy, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
