Oh, well Hello there. I’m pleased to meet you. My name is Westin. I’m an adoptable 2 year old shih-tzu with NBS Animal Rescue. To tell you a little bit about myself, I’m a gentle boy who loves attention. Life wasn’t always so good to me. Before the kind people in rescue took me in, I had been severely neglected to the point where fleas and other nuisances had left me bald on most of my body, especially my back half. I wasn’t sure if I would ever get better, but the nice people at NBS Animal Rescue took me to the vet to get medication and treatment for my very sore, itchy skin. While I was there, I also got all of my vaccinations, was fixed, microchipped and got an otherwise clean bill of health!
Now my life is turning around, and now I’m trying to find a warm lap to call my own. My skin and fur is healing and coming back now, and someday I’ll have a soft coat for you to pet. In the meantime, I appreciate gentle tummy rubs, kind words…and perhaps some yummy treats. I do fancy those quite a bit! You can probably guess that I can be a little anxious if I am left alone (I worry no one will come back for me). Other than that, I’m also a great walking companion, cuddle partner, and am doing great with potty training. I do alright with other dogs, and am pretty easy to love. My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.
