Maggie's Story...
Many dog's can be very frightened or a little shy when they first go from a loving home in to a shelter. Maggie, on the other hand, has taken everything in stride! If that's not a testament to what a sweet and happy-go-lucky girl she is, I don't know what is! Maggie is an 8 month old Hound mix who was surrendered due to resource guarding her food bowl. This is often an easy fix; hand feeding, and sitting with her while she eats, while adding small amounts of kibble to her bowl. Unfortunately, her last owners were unwilling to work with her on this, but they did let us know what a lovely dog she is beyond that. Maggie just loves people, and she also loves other dogs! She even knows how to sit on command, and is already housebroken. Nearly a ready made girl! She does still need to learn some more basic commands and leash manners, but otherwise Maggie is a total sweetheart who always has a wagging tail and big goofy grin on her face. She adores attention and will fit in well with someone who can provide just a little bit of patience and training!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Broadway Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Broadway, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Broadway.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Broadway already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Broadway breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Broadway paves the way for another one to be saved.
