Cody's Story...
Cody's sleek deep-chocolate coat and great disposition when he was picked up by animal control indicates some recent misfortune caused him to be homeless. Whatever it was, it has not dampened his spirits. From the first day he arrived at CARE, Inc. Cody has shown nothing but good will to every person and dog he meets. He especially loves men, swimming and romping---qualities that reinforce his lab looks. We would guess he might be all lab except for the shape of his head and a trimmer size that looks like pointer blood in there somewhere. While he is about the height of most labs, his lighter build puts him around the borderline of medium to large size. He is a stunning looker especially when he races back from a dip in a pond or lake. Although he is a high energy dog, he watches each volunteer who handles him as if looking for cues as to what he should do next. This is a dog so eager to learn and please, every day he goes without a home is a wasted day for some lucky family. He hasn't been tested with cats or for whether he is housetrained but his appearance when he came to animal control indicates he was living an indoor life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Albany Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pointer for sale in Albany, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
