My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Special Adaption Fee $75
AnneMarie
Born June, female DSH Calico

AnneMarie is a shy little girl named for the orphan in All Dogs Go to Heaven. She arrived in rescue so frightened that it took several months for her to come out of her shell. Now she follows her foster mom around the house and accepts affection when she's relaxed and feels safe, like after a nap or during meal time.

She's a curious and funny little cat with a very expressive face and personality. She loves to play with her food; she'll scoop it out of the bowl and bat it around before eating. She loves water, too; she drinks by dipping her paws into the bowl and licking the water off (which is totally cute). She's pretty feisty and can get into a little bit of trouble, like digging up houseplants, but responds well to training with a little water from a spray bottle.

Even now, AnneMarie will do best with an adopter who is patient and will allow her the time and space to get comfortable. Like most cats, she will let you know if she doesn’t like something you are doing, so if you have had cats before and know how to read their signals, it won’t take you long to make friends.

She would be happiest in a home with other cats who are willing to cuddle with her, as she's used to regular snuggle sessions with her foster sister Lola and her foster mom’s Bengal. She also enjoys swatting at the dog from under the bed, but he's a small Chihuahua, so we don't know how she'd do with larger dogs. Because she is still quite wary, we are looking for a home without children, who would be likely to frighten her.
Anne Marie is fostered in the Sacramento area.
