My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dragon was surrendered by his owner to Planned Pethood when his owner couldn't deal with how active he was. He was climbing on things, getting underfoot, and just doing normal kitten things. But this little 5 month old kitten is hardly normal. He was born with deformed legs. He didn't hardly walk at all when his foster mom got him. His front legs were missing joints so he almost army crawled. It gets worse. His one back leg was a little unusual, but functioned okay, but the other was almost completely backward and was tucked up under him. Every time he would try to walk it would trip him and with not having regular front legs, this little guy had a hard time getting around. He sure did try though. He was so scared when he first came to his foster home. He hid for over a day. After a few days, he came out of his shell and is happy as can be.

Dragon is the sweetest little guy everyone who's met him absolutely loves him. He charmed the staff at Spring Meadows Vet when he was taken in to be neutered and to have his right leg amputated. Dr. Brent thought little Dragon would get around better without the leg. He sure does! The stumbling little guy has turned into a confident boy who loves to run and play. He still doesn't walk "normally", but he gets around great. There really isn't anything "normal" about him.

For all the pain, not being cared for properly (his prior owner didn't have any plans to take him to the vet) and the scary surgery this little guy sure has the best attitude. He runs to greet his foster mom and snuggles with her on a blanket. He makes little chirping noises when he's happy and will do anything for salmon flavored canned cat food. His story is an inspiration to all of us that there's nothing too big to overcome with the right attitude.
