MONTE- ADOPTION PENDING's Story...
If you are interested in Monte please go to www.abgra.org. If your questions have not been answered with the information provided below, please contact affengriffonrescue@gmail.com

Monte is a marvelous 6 year old male neutered purebred smooth coat Brussels Griffon looking for his new home! He is darn near perfect…..an easy boy who is as sweet as they come and never meets a stranger; he wants to greet 'hello' to everyone! He has a friendly, sweet, and gentle disposition. He is just as happy as can be, wagging that little tail of his.

Monte doesn't like the camera but we want to show off his good looks! He has a very sweet face, and is a belge colored griffon. His previous owner purchased him in a pet store when he was a puppy and he has only known love and kindness in his life. He likes children but he gets nervous with groups of them. He will do best with dog savvy gentle children only. He is learning to take daily leash walks with his foster mom and he enjoys that. There have been a couple of scary strollers that gave him a start the first time he saw them, but he is quickly adapting to his active new lifestyle.

Monte would be a good pet for someone who wants round the clock companionship. He is a quiet dog, so would be OK in a condo or apartment as long as he gets frequent potty breaks outside and at least one walk or two everyday. He is a low energy dog who loves to lay by his foster mother's feet when she is working at the computer and follow her from room to room. He has not shown any interest in playing, nor is he destructive.

Monte is fine with other dogs, but he is not that interested in them, if not hesitant to get too acquainted. He would make a great only dog and we think he would thrive getting all the attention! He is not a jumper, not a barker, not hyper and friendly as all get out…..what a perfect a pet for someone who just wants a great new best friend to love the rest of his life!

Monte weighs 14.8 lbs. and we are trying to get a little of the extra weight off. The daily walks should do it and he would be perfect at about 13.5 lbs. or so. He is proving to be a picky eater and we are encouraging him with bits of boiled chicken mixed with his kibble. Monte is eating a high quality grain free diet and we would like for him to continue with a like quality food. He is up to date on his vaccines, neutered, and is microchipped…..all he needs now is someone to love him furever and ever!!

We prefer to place Monte within driving distance of where he is being fostered in Costa Mesa, CA. If someone from outside the local area is approved to adopt, Monte must travel by car or in the cabin of the plane. Under no circumstances can our rescued dogs ever be shipped in cargo. ABGRA does not place our rescued dogs in homes with invisible (electric) fencing or young children.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MONTE- ADOPTION PENDING, a Montara Brussels Griffon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Brussels Griffon for sale in Montara, or seeking a Brussels Griffon dog from a breeder in Montara.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Montara already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Montara breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Brussels Griffon breeders who help with Brussels Griffon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Montara paves the way for another one to be saved.
