Harry's Story...
Harry is a gorgeous young beagle , about two years old. He was found wandering, apparently abandoned by his prior owner . Harry is an exceptionally warm, loving little dog, although a little wary of new people at first. He is currently in a foster home where he is a true member of the pack, quickly learning the routine of the house . Harry loves all the things a beagle usually does - he runs and plays in the back yard for hours, and is passionate about rawhide chews. He loves to go for rides, showing off his beagle athleticism by jumping straight into the back of the SUV! The sight of a leash makes Harry ecstatic. But what he loves the most is being with people he knows and trusts. Harry returns love with even more love, strongly bonding with his people. He's a wonderful snuggler , fine with kids, and plays endlessly with other dogs [although large, dominant males sometimes upset him]. He hasn't been thoroughly tested for compatibility with cats. If you are interested in giving this fine beagle boy the forever home he so deserves, please submit an on line application at www.henricohumane.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harry, a Richmond Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
