Zillie's Story...
Zillie: 4 month old female Brown Tabby and Red Maine Coon

Zillie’s coloring is a delight. Her green eyes go so well with the red and brown and white that make up her coloring. I love her white eyeliner. She has huge ear hair and look at her marvelous ear tuffs (a Maine Coon’s glory) She is altogether a sumptuous color plush fur creation. She will be magnificent as she grows up.

Also making her unique is her 3/4 length tail. It is very cute but I have no knowledge of whether she came that way or something happened to her in her short life before she came to be my foster. It rather looks like she came that way since there has been no sign of harm or healing there. Very special girl. I wanted her the very minute I saw her in the shelter. (oh my god - look at her!!)

You can see how silky her soft hair is.

Her personality is also wonderful. She is friendly, loving, curious, happy with other cats. The world is her toy. She is a classic happy kitten. She will be someone’s treasure.

I will get some better photos right away including one of her standing with her little tail showing.

She eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zillie, a Davis Maine Coon kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Davis, or seeking a Maine Coon kitten from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
