My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maddie! Maddie is 8 years old, but don't tell her as she appears to be completely unaware of it! Quite spry for a mature Dane! She is a sweetly disposition girl with a beautiful blue coat and natural ears - when she is inquisitive, she looks like the Flying Nun! Poor Maddie came to MAGDRL after her owner passed away. Maddie cannot (or will not) do stairs, so she would be best in a single story home, but is respectful of gates and does not mind being away from her people overnight in a two story. Like all Danes, she requires good bedding to lie on, and likes to sit beside you on the couch, too. Maddie knows "sit" and takes treats very gently, and we are working on other commands and leash training. She would do best in a low activity home with only older or dog savvy children, at 150 pounds, Maddie is a lot of dog! Maddie is a huge love-bug and leaner. She is not a drooler, but is somewhat of messy eater. She will eliminate on command if on a good feeding schedule. Maddie does show some signs of age with some old lady lumps and bumps as well as a large cyst on her left hand side towards are hip. This does not bother her at all but her forever home will need to be aware of its size for future developments. Maddie is a lovely girl who is looking for a family that will give her a wonderful loving home.
