Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Oliver! Oliver is a big, sweet hound who is eager to learn and please his people. He is less independent than most hounds and very much wants to be with his person. Oliver gets along well with dogs of all genders and sizes. He is respectful of dogs who don't want to play, but loves to play rough with dogs that do! Oliver enjoys barking at the resident barn cat and would probably do best in a home without cats or birds. Like any good hound dog, Oliver can be very vocal! He gets so excited when let out of his crate that he just can't contain himself and bays for a minute or so. It's a great "welcome home mom/dad"! He walks nicely on a leash, but does need a few corrections when starting out to remind him not to pull. Oliver is still learning to crate on command, but is quiet while crated. He is housebroken to a dog door and settles well in the house with proper exercise (medium/high energy requirement). He would be a great walking/jogging/hiking partner! Oliver weighs about 60 lbs and is approximately 23-24 inches at the shoulder. He is neutered and up to date on all vetting. Sweet Oliver winces at raised hands or when he thinks he's in trouble and needs a patient, loving home that can help him continue perfecting his manners. Due to his size and exuberance, Oliver is best suited for children over age 8.
