Trooper's Story...
Looking for a family friend?
Trooper and 3 of his buddies lost their owner and their home. Trooper is a loving, handsome 7yr hound mix with terrific dog and people skills (not cat tested yet). He's lived his life at the end of a chain and is learning what freedom is all about.
Trooper adores hiking and rides in the truck. He has been spending his days basking in the sun and wrestling with his doggie pals. Trooper is crated indoors at night and sleeps quietly. He's learning about leash skills and is almost house trained (doesn't soil crate).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trooper, a Monterey Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Monterey, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Monterey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monterey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monterey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monterey paves the way for another one to be saved.
