My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET CHLOE -

C- Cute and cuddly
H - Happy and playful
L - Loving and affectionate
O - Outdoor lover...Chloe loves the beach and backyard alike
E - Energetic...watch her run and play.

A sweet, dainty momma, CHLOE is the sweetest, 4 year old, spayed female smooth, red miniature dachshund (AKC though no papers) who weighs about 11lbs. She is leash trained, loves to walk and run around outside. CHLOE is affectionate and loves to snuggle and give kisses. She is also just a lot of fun to watch and play with. She enjoys running as fast as she can, destroying furry squeaker toys and sunbathing in the grass. If you take her to the beach, she loves to bite the water and pull out seaweed. She enjoys having another doxie around to wrestle with (but only if he is a gentleman) and plays hide and seek under the blankets. CHLOE is also a delicate flower: she is afraid of big dogs. Her family has recently relocated with the military, so CHLOE no longer has a yard to play in and her family is gone for long hours at a time. They are hoping she can find a loving, stable family, possibly with older children, where she can play outside and have the affection she deserves. Are you that family seeking a sweet, delicate, fun loving doxie?

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give CHLOE a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
