Facts about Walter

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tan Or Fawn Tabby
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Walter is one of our old guys. He was living the life of a feral in a colony in downtown Centralia. He was trapped, neutered and ear tipped as is customary for feral or free-roaming cats. Walter, however, turned out to be super tame. He had lived a long and hard life on the streets, was thin and malnourished and was missing all but one tooth. The decision was made to place him in our adoption program rather than return him to the streets. He went through a rough adjustment, losing almost all of his fur. But with continued proper diet, clean water, shelter and love he has turned into a beautiful, stout, happy and healthy senior cat. He seems unbothered by Brandy the chiweenie and pats gently at his neighbor cat. He does have FIV, a sad consequence typical among unaltered male cats living outdoors, but is very healthy. He needs an experienced adopter who understands FIV and is willing to give Walter all the love he deserves through the rest of his life, no matter how short or long it may be. 360-623-0820 to meet Walter

About The Cat's Meow Spay, Neuter & Adoption Project

About Our Rescue Group...

The Cat's Meow started out as a little girl's dream to save the world, one kitten at a time, when she got her very own kitten at age 8. Bootsy was the love of her life and unknowingly set into motion the ideas and passion that would later create this comprehensive organization. We offer low-cost spay/neuter for all cats, feral and tame alike; we rent out traps, holding cages, carriers, & kennels to make it easy for people to get their cats to us, we work with other area organizations that provide food and high-volume intake for adoption. As resources allow, we bring in injured or sick cats for treatment and subsequent adoption. We are no-kill except in cases of terminal and severe illness/injury.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are currently building a high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic in downtown Centralia, WA. Our adoptable cats can be viewed there at 404 South Tower, Centralia, WA 98531. While we are growing our volunteer base, viewings/adoptions are by appointment only. Please call our Executive Director, Twila Collins, at 360-623-0820 to schedule a meeting with your purrfect furry friend!

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $75. Most all of our cats are available for indoor-only placement, with the exception of young cats that we have trapped outdoors and tamed for adoption. These "rehabilitated" cats may be available for indoor/outdoor placement depending on the outdoor conditions of the adopter's home.
All of our kittens/cats are negative for FeLV/FIV (unless noted), spayed or neutered, vaccinated against distemper and treated for parasites.
We also offer a 14-day exchange guarantee and a lifetime return policy on all of our kittens and cats.
