My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET HANK

Remember the 1960's band, Tommy James and the Shondells? Well, we have an adorable little male doxie (AKC, no papers) that one of their hits describes to a tee...'Our baby does the Hankie Panky'... A sweet little puppy standing all alone, when you see him, you'll say 'handsome baby can I take you home?' HANK (or Hankie Panky as he is referred to at the shelter) is a sweet, loving 6 month old puppy with big puppy dog eyes, perfect hound ears and paws and will likely only be about 14 pounds when full grown. As you can see, he loves to cuddle (especially in his froggie blanket). HANK gets along well with other dogs and children. Like many of the doxies that come to Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc, little Hankie Panky is a trauma survivor. He needs a lot of love, affection and positive attention from his new forever family, which he will return to you in spades. If this is this you and you're able to stay home with him, why not submit your application and come meet HANK?

NOTE FROM HANK's FOSTER MOM:

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give HANK a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
