Meet Blazer!  Blazer is a 9 year old tri color male beagle. Blazer comes to us from a local animal shelter after being an unfortunate victim of a hoarding case here in Jacksonville.  Despite the neglect of attention and care, Blazer is in pretty good shape for his age. Blazer has had a full work up at our vet. His bloodwork and exam came back with excellent results for his age.  He does have some arthrtis in his back but thats to be expected at his age. Blazer also has a slight cherry eye but it does not need to removed and does not cause him any issues.

Blazer would do best with a retired couple or person.  Although Blazer loves to take walks and run around in the yard, he really likes to live a laid back life in the house.  Lots of lap, bed and couch time.  Blazer is highly trainable and food motivated.  Because of Blazers's age and arthritis in his back, he would prefer without children.  Blazer gets along with dogs who are as laid back as he is.  He likes his space too so a only dog home would suit him fine as well.

Blazer is up to date on all vaccines.

Blazer is crate and house trained.

Blazer is neutered.

Blazer is micro chipped.

About First Coast Beagle Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

First Coast Beagle Rescue is a group of volunteer beagle lovers whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. Whenever possible we also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners. We are located in the Jacksonville Area.

All beagle rescues are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. They are all spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date on shots before being placed in their new homes. When time permits, our dogs are also house trained and taught basic obedience.

All Beagles are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners. If you are looking for a specific type of beagle and do not see it on our website, please email us. We work closely with other rescue groups and animal shelters and may be able to assist you in finding your next furry friend.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption procedure is as follows:

A securely fenced-in yard is required for all adoptions, there are very few exceptions.

An adoption application must be filled out.

After a thorough phone interview:

A home visit with all household members and where the condition of the fence will be verified is done by someone representing our organization.

Upon completion and approval, you will be allowed to adopt one of our beagles.

We will try to match you with the beagle that is most suited to you and your lifestyle. An adoption donation includes spay/neuter and all required vaccines.
