What happens when you combine two high-maintenance, pretty demanding breeds (not necessarily in equal parts) into one elegant, medium-sized dog? You get a great all-around, very people-oriented family pet and her name is Lexie! Calm, loving, gentle, relaxed, and rather casual, this girl in temperament favors her Husky heritage. Interested without being excitable, and intelligent without being demanding, she is an attentive, obedient, very well-mannered dog who is quick and eager to please when she knows what is expected of her. But that doesn’t mean she won’t need responsible owners who provide structure and firm, consistent leadership to keep her this way. An active, alert, and sometimes playful girl, she also needs daily mental stimulation and physical activity to stay fit and happy. In personality, perhaps favoring more her Shepherd heritage, she is a loyal, steadfast, and tranquil, but serious-minded dog who loves more than anything to be close to her people. Warm and affectionate with those she knows, Lexie can be somewhat reserved when meeting new people, but with slight direction from her handler, she relaxes and is completely welcoming of strangers who quickly become new friends. Lexie is currently working on her leash skills and good manners training with Monroe SPCA. She is well-mannered on a leash, she has a strong work ethic, and she excels in obedience.

Lexie is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a moderately-active lifestyle. As with all of our adoptable pets, we recommend a meet-n-greet with any housemate dogs prior to adoption. Direct interaction with cats is unknown and cannot be assessed at the shelter at this time.

Lexie currently resides at the Monroe County Animal Shelter. The shelter is located at 911 South Raisinville Road, Monroe, MI 48161. You can meet her during regular shelter hours; Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, and Saturday, 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexie, a Monroe Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Monroe, or seeking a Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Monroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
