Cassie's Story...
Hi my name is Cassie and I'm a sweet 5 year old lady. I enjoy attention and love to be patted and fussed over by my humans. I love to play with toys like feather teasers, strings or stuffed mice or just lounging around catching all the sun rays. I came to the shelter when my owner could no longer take care of me. So if you're looking for a sweet heart to spend your days with come down and adopt me today!! Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please PHONE the shelter (978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk) instead of sending emails.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cassie, a Gloucester Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
