My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Yellow Labrador/Labrador Retriever
Age: 1-2 Years
Weight: 76 Lbs
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Not tested
Good with kids: Older as he will knock over little children
Energy Level: High

If we had to guess, we would say that Calvin is a purebred Yellow Labrador Retriever. He has that cute, boxie face with pudgy jowels. He has well-defined features and has a regal look about him. This champ weighs in at 76 pounds and is very solid. Calvin has the typical Labrador Retriever personality. He has higher energy and will need to be exercised regularly. He looks and acts like a giant puppy. Calvin can out-run all the dogs in the play area. He has great agility and absolutely loves to play ball. Although we don't know if Calvin is a swimmer, he would be the dog at the lake who would run down the dock and do a giant belly flop into the water. He has a lot of character and personality. If you've always wanted a purebred lab but wanted to rescue, Calvin's your boy. Give him the forever home he deserves!

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
