My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What a charmer! Roosevelt is a handsome pie bald dachshund, 4-5 years old and 16 pounds. He is the ideal lapdog -- and he will let you know that he expects to be held! Roosevelt is a very dear boy with a very soft coat. He enjoys going on walks and road trips, and he LOVES snuggling with his people in the big bed (or anywhere). He loves to play with soft toys, and he would LOVE an active doggie playmate to chase around the house and yard. He's a "ready for anythiing" kind of guy. Roosevelt needs a doggie companion to keep him company during the day, unless his human will be at home with him and able to play games with him. Roosevelt's adoption fee is $350. If you are interested in adopting Roosevelt, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Roosevelt 's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Roosevelt will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
