My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 5-month-old female Shepherd/Sheltie mix puppy. I weigh about 20 pounds right now, but I have some growing to do still. If I had to guess, I’ll probably end up being around 35-40 pounds.

I am a really nice girl – I just love everyone I meet – people and dogs alike!

If you can’t tell from my photos, I am a pretty unique looking pup, too. One of a kind, I’m sure! I have a long, luxurious coat that has a little bit of a curl to it.

I was brought into a local high-kill shelter as a stray. When I was impounded, the staff noticed that I had some hair loss around my muzzle. A skin scrape confirmed that I had mange. Not to worry though, it’s something that a lot of puppies get. It’s not the contagious kind and it’s very easy to get rid of with medication. If you have questions about it, feel free to ask my friends here at CageFree. They’d be happy to explain everything in more detail.

I didn’t spend very long at the shelter. Before I knew it, I was being shuttled to CageFree. Thank goodness! I now spend my days hanging out with all my friends, waiting for the right family to come along.

My companions here think it would be best if my new family was home a lot or had another dog. I’m not super excited about being alone. I know some dogs like to have their own time where they can chew on bones or snooze in the sun, without being interrupted, but I like the company! I’m guessing this stems from my time alone on the streets.

It would also be great if my new family were active like me. I can only imagine all the fun we’ll have playing, and chasing, and rolling around together.

Oh, one last thing I should mention, I am a bit of a jumper. If I were to go to a home with a yard, it would have to be very secure with tall fences.

If I sound like the perfect fit for you, please don’t hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you want to schedule a time to meet me!
