Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! I am Zazu and I am a 5 year old Green Wing Macaw. My foster family says I am a calm bird of few words. I can say Hello, Zazu, and now Echo (because I am being fostered in a home with another macaw named Echo). I can be vocal when I feel it is required, for example, when I want to tell you know it is time for me to sit with you or to come out of my cage or when I am done at my play perch area. If you say “Come on Zazu” in a gentle voice, I will step up on your arm. I like to sit with people and love to be close to you at all times. I also like to fluff up and flap my wings when I get excited. I am very much a people birdie and if you have experience with macaws, then I think I would be perfect for you! My foster family is trying to convert me from a seed diet to a more healthy diet with pellets, fresh vegetables, some fruits, and healthy nuts (remember, no peanuts for parrots!). An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
