Although a beloved family pet, Haley was regretfully being surrendered to a shelter due to serious illness in the family. She was so scared, barking and resisting, that she caught the eye and heart of a Dusty Paws volunteer who happened to be on scene and made arrangements to take her into foster care.
Haley is still a youngster, born December 2013. She is 48 lbs. and is a Border Collie/Lab mix, full of curiosity and enjoying investigating her foster home. She has a loving nature and gives kisses. Her foster mom has been working on manners and other training, which Haley is picking up quickly. She is food motivated, attentive and very smart. She is house-trained, crate trained and follows commands such as sit, come, and fetch, but will benefit from continuing training from her new guardian. Haley still needs work on expending energy and curbing her exuberance. For this reason, we suggest an (active) adult home for her, or one with mature children.
Haley's middle name should be "Flash!" She is one of the most energetic dogs Dusty Paws volunteers have known. She is good with other dogs and tries to get them to play chase with her. She loves to run and play and would be a great companion for another high energy dog.
Haley is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
