Griffin's Story...
Griffin was born on July 11th to a young homeless mother cat. A kindly older gentleman brought her to his vet out of concern for her welfare and several days later she gave birth to seven healthy kittens. Five have since been adopted, and Griffin and his brother Geoffrey are the two remaining kittens now in foster care where they are thriving.

They are playful, confident, and very sweet. These two little boys are “two peas in a pod.” When not playing with their toys, chasing one another through the house, and wrestling with their stuffed animals and each other, they are curled up and cuddling each other. Griffin really needs his brother Geoffrey as he still comforts himself by suckling on Geoffrey’s throat and behind his ears when cuddling…all this is never objected to by Geoffrey who is always receptive and mellow about it.

Both kitties were very brave when introduced to their foster mom’s 4 cats and 2 gentle big dogs and they interact with all of them successfully throughout the day. They both get “gold stars” for always using their litter box. They love to curl up (always together) in their foster mom’s lap after wearing themselves out from playing and will spend hours with her curled up on the sofa where they love being stroked.

Geoffrey’s hair is very sleek while Griffin’s is wispy and will most likely be longer as he matures. Both appear to be black but in the light their tabby stripes become evident…..it will be interesting to see their coats changing as they mature. Even though both kittens are lively, curious, and adventurous, they do have calm temperaments.

These two little brothers have a strong best friends bond and are hoping for a forever home together.

Approximate DOB 7/10/14

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Griffin, a St. Louis Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
