Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Michi (Michielena) really has a heart of gold and wants to be the center of your universe. She is very playful, energetic and sassy. She came to Saving Paws in 12/12/2012 and we started to realize that she had some unknown neurological issues. She has one lazy eye that does have vision and is there to keep a constant eye on her people. What was originally thought to be a neurological issue turned out to be spinal bone growth that was impinging on her spinal chord. We do not know what caused this previous injury. This had caused her back legs to give out sometimes. One unfortunate night in May of 2014, she was found in tremendous pain by some volunteers. We got her to the vet and a series of tests including an MRI revealed the spinal chord bone build up. Through the gracious efforts of donors, Saving Paws was able to get her a much needed surgery to remove the excess bone. She has been on a long recovery that has included a lot of swimming and would benefit from swimming often. Michi is getting stronger daily, walks on her own in grass and non-slippery areas and shows great signs of full strength back. In Michi's world, this is not slowing her down. She gets along with other dogs, loves anyone that will give her extra special attention.
If you would like to meet Michi just contact us at savingpawsrescue@gmail.com or #480-737-6089 for an appointment. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many of our volunteers juggle family, full-time careers and time at Saving Paws. Please give some consideration to them and allow us 48 hours to return calls. to start the process.
