Timmy's Story...
"Are you looking for a an affectionate and loving little house dog who's also loaded with personality? Then you've got to come to the El Cajon Animal Shelter and get to know me. My name is TIMMY, and I'm a one-year-old Chihuahua who's looking for a new home. I have a gentle nature, and I've been very quiet here at the shelter. I have an even temperament, and I love to cuddle, but I also enjoy bounding around the play yard. You'll get a real kick out of seeing me chase after balls, and you'll see that I possess a true joy for life. Everyone here at the shelter agrees that I'm a special fellow, and I'm confident that I can add sunshine to your life. I'd do best in a home where the kids are older and considerate of me, and I get along well with other dogs. I'm a real gentleman. I know how to sit on command (for a tasty treat, please), and the shelter staff is pretty sure that I've already been house trained. I might need a little guidance, in that regard, when I get to my new home. Won't you please come visit me? Just ask the helpful staff if we can spend some time out in the nice play yard that they have here. I think you'll find that I'm the wonderful little dog that you've been looking for. Love, Timmy" Kennel #57

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Timmy, a El Cajon Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
