My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hastings is approx 22 lbs and 14 months old. He is a little underweight and could do with putting on a few pounds. He is a beautiful terrier mix and just as sweet as can be. He started off life out of the shelter in a not so good way. He became ill from his first round of heartworm treatment which caused pneumonia. He has no lingering symptoms, but because he was so sick we decided to put him on the slow kill method which consists of several months of doxycycline and heart guard twice a month for the next few months, which we are providing until he is clear. He is a really nice dog who loves to run and play with his rescue buddies, loves toys, curls up on his doggie bed in the bedroom at night and is very well behaved. He does like to eat in peace, but who doesn’t? He is just a doll!! Here is a letter from his foster mom -

Hi Kathy,
I just wanted to let you know it’s been a beautiful afternoon with Hastings. We went to Petco and got new water bowl, food bowl, and placemat. Both dogs enjoyed the shopping trip because we came home with some new toys. We also got a leash that is not pink (we have three and all are pink!). We came home and walked them to the dog park, and he does very well on the leash! When we first let him off the leash at the park he was a bit confused. He hugged my leg like a little kid would for a could minutes, but we got him to play around after that! He played very well with all the dogs. Unfortunately for him, his foster sister decided to plunge herself in a huge mud puddle and cut the play date a bit short! We came home and the two of them continued playing for a couple hours! Finally we turned off some lights and both fell asleep. Little Hastings fell asleep in our doggy bed and seemed to like it a lot. (This is a doggy bed that Finley has never laid in once. Of course today when she saw Hastings cozying up she immediately kicked him out and tried to reclaim it for herself! We told her she won’t be sleeping there!)
He is just the most lovable dog, and we love him being here! He loves cuddling with both of us. Even when he picks up a toy he walks up to Finley, and allows her to take the other end so they can play tug-a-war.
