MEET APPLE:

Darling APPLE is a 9 years old, spayed, tri-colored, longhair female Dachshund who weighs 12lbs. APPLE's owners passed away and the family is unable to keep her. APPLE is spayed but she will need her vaccinations updated and her teeth cleaned eventually. APPLE is a healthy doxie and like many of us these days, needs to be on a grain free diet. She has had regular flea treatments and baths.

Not surprisingly, since her owners passed away, APPLE has struggled with remembering her potty training. She was previously potty trained, but regressed after experiencing the traumatic loss of her family. Once she is with a secure new forever family, we have no doubt that she will remember her potty training again!

APPLE is ok with other dogs, but not young children.

This is what Apple's caretaker said about her:

"She has the most beautiful deep brown eyes… they are so sad.. she LOVES to snuggle. she will sleep very quietly next to someone ALL day… she loves to go and will spend 12 hours riding in my parents car/motorhome and NEVER potty. She rarely goes with us as we never take our dogs with us unless we are going riding and the small dogs don't do that. She however is first in line to go… is very well behaved in the car. Give her a blanket she will snuggle under it and you won't see her again. She does not play with things...she is a quiet dog who just wants to be cuddled and loved on which I do, but in this house with the memories of my parents I don't think she is adjusting..

"It just makes me sad to see her wander the house at every noise she hears… then she comes back and just curls up alone… sometimes I can get her to sit with me but mostly she goes and curls up on the couch where her and dad used to sit all the time. I cry a lot looking at her. I just want a home where someone has time to love on her…. someplace where my parent are absent from her senses."

Apple is located in Vancouver, Washington. This is a courtesy posting. Apple is not an ODR, Inc. dog. FOR MORE INFORMATION about APPLIE, Please contact:

ODR, INC. ADOPTION CRITERIA (aka Our Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
