Isabelle and her mom/siblings were living as strays in St. Louis and wandered upon a couple's porch looking for food and shelter. Sadly, the husband viewed them as a nuisance and rather than wait for help to show up the next day to take them to rescue, he took them to a high-kill shelter to be put down. Fortunately, one of our fellow rescue friends found out about it and pulled them out of there just in the nick of time. When we took them in, all five kitties were horribly sick with upper respiratory infections so we treated them with medication and lots of TLC. All made full recoveries although Isabelle did sustain some permanent damage to her left eye due to the infection going too long without being treated. However, she can see just fine; it's just a bit smaller than the other eye and sometimes weeps and needs to be cleaned.
Isabelle, or Izzy as we like to call her, is a beautiful short-haired Torbie with white. She is quite the character and will roll on her back and show her tummy when she's excited and wants attention. She is quite a playful ham too and will zip around her room like a maniac when she is feeling feisty. She is on the shy side though and will need some time to adjust to a new home. She's very docile though and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She does just fine with other kitties and would to have a kitty companion in her new home. I think she may also adjust to a cat-friendly dog that won't chase her, but older or no children would be best due to her timid nature. Izzy is spayed, current on vaccinations, tested negative for FelV/FIV and microchipped - DOB 4/18/14 (tag # 8778).
