My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toby's story..
Toby belonged to a patient of mine, who sadly ended up in the hospital after stumbling over the cat because of an unsteady gait. His son told him before he came home, Toby would need to find another home as he was concerned for his fathers health and further injury.
Sadly, Toby belonged to my patients daughter who had passed away from multi organ cancer, and Toby was one of the last pieces of his daughter he was trying to hold on to. Toby held such sentimental meaning to my patient, and he was so overwhelmed of the decision to rehome Toby.
I offered to take Toby, to ease his concern and worry, and my patients eye lit up and comfort overcame his face as he knew I would take care of him until I could find him the right home.
As soon as I came into the house to pick Toby up, his son called him, and he came right up to me chirping ad purring. He let me pick him up and embrace him.
He went into the carrier without issue.
Tears filled the sons eyes and he could barely hold back from the overwhelming emotion of saying goodbye to his sisters beloved cat.
I hugged him and ensured him that he was in good hands.
So, Toby and I began our journey to my home. He meowed the whole way home and was only comforted when I would say his name and pet him through the carrier.
Once we came home, I set Toby in the cat room and opened the door. He came out without issue and began purring and seeking attention.
He is still getting used to the other animals, the house, new smells, and surroundings. But all in all he is doing well for coming from an only cat home.
I can tell you that Toby loves attention, loves be held, and much like a dog, comes when called. He is a natural love bug.
Toby is in good health and is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
He is good with the litter box.
I am looking for a home for him that may not have as much activity and other animals as I have here. Although he is doing good for his first day, I know this is temporary, and would like to find a loving home with a family or someone who can value and love him as much as his previous owner.
Please pass the word along. I am going to let him get acclimated here and socialize him with my dogs.
I will only let him go to a home I know will give him unconditional love and ease the discomfort of losing his beloved owner, and being rehomed for a third time.
