Pita's Story...
Pita is a grey and white neutered male. He is currently living in a foster home with several other kitties. When he first arrived he was shy and hid under the bed. He is now an interactive part of the group. He is still somewhat shy and may take time to warm up, but he has a marvelous secret – he absolutely loves to be petted! Since he had a difficult start to life, he is learning that it is okay to be coddled and cared for. He is even beginning to join in on the fun with the other kittens, and will play with a string or toy. He is still somewhat overwhelmed by the other kittens and while he holds his own, he would probably do best in a quieter home and to be the only cat, or perhaps with an older cat. He is such a loving kitten – he just needs someone willing to take the time to help him feel safe and comfortable so he can show all he has to offer!

All cats are up to date on shots, microchipped, fixed, and tested felv/fiv. If you are interested in adopting this special kitten please email: gotfriendlies@feralfixers.org Screening questionnaire and contract apply!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pita, a Lombard Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Lombard, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Lombard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lombard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lombard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lombard paves the way for another one to be saved.
