My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Curry, at only 4 weeks old and almost 2 lbs was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this brand new puppy...they lovingly rescued Curry (and her 5 siblings!). Curry is starting out with great energy. The excellent results of her vetting, baby temperament-testing..and of course her cottony coat and adorable puppy face didn't hurt - resulted in a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life.
Curry is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She appears to be so smart and intuitive...very typical of the cross of the curious Terrier and the brilliant Shepherd. The following is what Curry's Denver foster had to say about this cuddle-bug:

Curry is the smartest puppy ever! She has already learned COME and SIT in just 5 days! She is crate trained (again amazing at 9 weeks!). Curry happily sleeps in her crate in our bedroom. She even goes in on her own during the day to nap and just hang out.
We're working on leash walking...once again, Curry is catching on like a champ. House training is about 50/50 after 3-4 days...but then again, I have to remind myself that Curry is barely 9 weeks old. She definitely knows she will get a treat when she goes to the bathroom outside but occasionally, she's so involved in play or snuggling, that she forgets and has an accident in spite of her best intentions!
Curry is not begging at the table at all..amazing! She just waits quietly while we eat...it's good enough for her to just be with us...it makes her so happy. Curry really likes car rides and will therefore be so easy to take along on so many adventures.
Curry is very playful and energetic. She loves running back and forth across the yard and is so joyous and happy with the world when she does so.
Curry couldn't be more snuggly and cuddly. She's exceptional when she meets new people and is a world-class lover with everyone. She would be the greatest dog with kids. I can completely see Curry as a school mascot since she's loves everyone and shows it in the sweetest way possible. Curry appears to be really great with other dogs although we haven't had much experience at this point.
Best of all, of course, Curry is doing all those adorable little puppy things. She loves chasing her tail, barking at her reflection in the window, and running after leaves that blowing past her.
Our vet said today that Curry looks like a Norfolk with some shepherd in there. It appears that Curry could be a 40-50 lb adult dog...and nothing but pure love! She's bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Curry is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. Curry has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - she would form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by group Obedience Classes. It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior.
We're open to Curry finding her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Curry seems to love children as well but we would prefer to place her in a home with older kids (10+) that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regiment. Curry will be up to date on her vetting, however is considered to be too young to spay. Farfel's will cover all spaying costs at about 6 months old as well as any further vaccinations/microchip necessary if our vet in Denver is used.
Curry is an adorable combination of shedding and non-shedding breeds and at this point seems to be a non-shedding pup although it's very difficult to tell conclusively. Due to Curry's very young age, we don't feel we can guarantee her suitability for an individual with severe allergy challenges.

Curry is being fostered in Denver. We 're currently searching for a committed and loving family who will be entertained by the silly antics of this puppy. If interested in this snuggly and sweet girl, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
