My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 3-year-old spayed female Dachshund/Pit Bull mix. I weigh about 32 pounds. As you can tell, I am a pretty unique looking gal. Have you ever seen a mix like me? I'm guessing you haven't. My friends aren't really sure how it all happened, but they're all hoping that my mom was the Pit Bull. Since the humans around here haven't learned how to speak fluent dog yet, I'm not able to tell them exactly what took place.

I was brought into a local high-kill shelter after someone found me wandering the streets of Los Angeles. I was pretty freaked out when I got there. It was loud and chaotic, but I was thankful to not be on the streets anymore. At least I was getting fed and given water on a regular basis, right? I just had to keep reminding myself of that.

When I got to the shelter, I was covered in fleas. No surprise there! The streets are a breeding ground for all kinds of yucky parasites. I wasn't super skinny so my friends think I was either, on the streets for a very short time, or I was really good at finding food. Once again, it would be super helpful if someone around here spoke dog. I could tell them all about my previous life!

I got lucky because I only spent about a week at the shelter before a volunteer contacted CageFree to ask them if they would take me in. Thankfully, they said they would. The next day I was sent to the vet to be sterilized. That was kind of a bummer, but I've been told it's a good thing and that it had to be done if I wanted out of the shelter, so I agreed to it.

Now that you know a little about my history, let me tell you more about my personality. I get along great with everyone I meet - people and dogs alike! I haven't met a stranger yet. I'm super duper sweet, affectionate, and loving. Trust me, I'm a really nice dog! I may be 32 pounds, but I still think I am a lapdog. I'm playful, inquisitive, and always happy. My tail is always wagging with excitement. I love to give doggy kisses, too!

I'm looking for a family that will shower me with all the love and affection I deserve. Oh, and a secure home so that I never end up on the streets again. I don't think that's too much to ask for, it is? If you think you're up for the job of loving me forever, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you want to meet me! I'm waiting patiently to start my new life!
