Shylyn's Story...
Shylyn came to the shelter as an owner surrender. She had been found as a stray several months ago, and was being fed and taken care of by a concerned citizen. The citizen no longer wanted to care for Shylyn, or her friend Marie, so they were surrendered to the shelter.

Shylyn is still adjusting to living at the shelter. She keeps to herself for the most part. The noise at the shelter scares her.

We would like to find a foster home for her, so she can come out of her shell.

Shylyn, a Hazel Park Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Hazel Park, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Hazel Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hazel Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hazel Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hazel Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
