Information:
Kadir is a very well behaved young man who walks on the leash, sits on command, when playing fetch will return toy and drop it on command, responds to a whistle to return to your side, adores riding in the pickup truck flying up into the seat as soon as he is given the OK to jump in. Does Not do well with other dogs or small/young people. Prefers being with people but does well on his own while I am at work. We are working on his habit of jumping up to ?greet people all of whom he is so happy to see. He is happy to sleep in your bed but does sleep in his own bed when asked to do so.

He is tolerant of the cat he lives with - to be safe she has an escape route and has Kadir trained. She lies in wait and when he walks by she swats him (no claws but always a surprise). He stays away and doesn't chase after her.

Kadir goes for walks on the leash and listens to commands (stop, slow, walk with me) but has a tendency to great others enthusiastically and wants to face kiss. He does not do well with other dogs regardless of size but cries to join them at the dog park. Loves to have his butt rubbed, is happy to sit with you or on you, and adores playing tug with you and his rope toys. He can fetch the ball, return it and will drop the ball on command, knows sit, stay(short time), up (onto bed or truck seat), and sits automatically to get his harness and leash put on in preparation for walk or ride. He adores riding in the car, traveling is never a problem. And he is always ready for having his picture taken.

His preference is to be with you but will stay at home and wait for your return with patience and without problems.

About Blind Dog Rescue Alliance - MA

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of volunteers spread throughout the United States (and even a couple in Canada) who are dedicated to advocating for blind and visually impaired dogs by rescuing dogs in shelters, helping blind dog owners, and educating the public. We formed in 2009, though our members have many years of experience in rescue, and in blind dogs.

Our Adoption Process...

Interested in adopting a BDRA Dog? Simply fill out our application. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered,

up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick preventive.

We ask a $300 adoption fee. This does not begin to cover the vetwork we do on our dogs, which is why
we are always fundraising!

The Board of Directors has voted to prohibit the use of Invisible/Electronic fences on Blind Dog Rescue Alliance dogs. This policy will be effective immediately.

Keep in mind that Blind Dog Rescue Alliance will transport dogs to their potential adopters. So do not let distance discourage you.
