Hello everyone, I’m Paris. As you can imagine from my name and pretty bows – I’m a very special little lady. Indeed, I am a 3 year old female Shih Tzu. Not long ago, I would have had a different fate if it was for NBS and my good friends at 4 Paws 1 Heart (esp Gina) . In my last home (before rescue) I was let outside and attacked by a stray dog. It hurt super bad, and I heard I was going to be put to sleep. Luckily the staff at 4 Paws 1 Heart and NBS knew my life was worth trying for. Thankfully, I soon found myself resting comfortably on IV pain medication.
Now I am doing great! I even got my stitches out. (I didn’t want to be Frankenstein for Halloween, not my style, ya know?) Well, now that I am healed and happy, I’m ready to start searching for a safe and fur-ever home. I promise, I am super duper sweet, love to snuggle, am potty trained, trustworthy in the house when you're at work, but I do want someone who can be home to cuddle with me too. During the day, I love to go for walks and gently prance down the sidewalk by your side. If you like to go places, I do great in the car, am good with other mellow, friendly low key dogs. Sudden, big movements scare me (can ya blame me? Last time was pretty darn scary!) so if you have kids, I’d prefer they be low key and gentle too. Maybe 8 years+? I can be a teensy bit shy at first, but I warm up very quickly with a soft back rub and kind words. Those delicious soft treats are pretty encouraging too, tee hee.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.
