My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dozer's Story...
Roar!!! The lion has arrived! If you have never seen a Lion’s paws, then you have never seen mine. I have two of the biggest front paws you will find! Oh – sorry, my name is Dozer, as in Bulldozer! Now you get it, I am strong, gentle giant, 2.5 year old 65lb English Bulldog looking for my forever home. I came to CEBR from my birth family as they just couldn’t find the time to spend with me. Sometimes, I felt like a lion at the zoo, having to spend lots of time in my cage. However, I have seen what it is like to have lots of free time and now I just love being an active Bully! I am a healthy guy but I do like to show off some of my war wounds from the seasonal skin allergy I have had (Alopecia). As a result of this allergy, I will flash you some “skin” on my right belly. But please don’t stare or I will surely give you one of the wettest kisses you have ever seen!
My foster family just gushes over me every day – I just wish they would stop kissing my sweet and beautiful face so often! Instead, I would like them to play more ball with me outside as that is one of my favorite things to do. I race my foster sister every throw and even though I am on the chunkier side of things, I can beat anyone in a 50 yard dash! If that wasn’t enough exercise, I also like to take walks which I know you find unusual for your normal bulldog!
Other things you may want to know about me are that I am cage trained – I am very comfortable in my crate but I sometimes play hard to get in the cage. When that happens, I can always be persuaded by my favorite treat, APPLES – yes!! I had a tight bond with my original male owner and then I had this great foster dad decide to take me under his wing. As a result, I literally follow that guy around the house all day long – I just don’t want to lose him! When he leaves, I get upset at first, but then I just sit and wait for him to return so I can give him my patented “butt wag” and a big, honking wet kiss! Car rides are something newer to me and my foster family has been trucking me around town so much that I have found a passion for riding in the car. I am working on settling down but I am just so excited to be able to cruise the streets!
We all have things to work on…but I only have a few of those. If you leave in my cage and then come home very excited to see me, I sometimes have this “submissive pee” thing going on. But my foster family has found out that if you enter the home and ignore me for a bit and then just casually opens my cage, I do just fine! I have been a great partner for my foster sister – I love to play with her. Sometimes, I get a little too excited about my new female partner and I start to try to “hump” that beautiful princess – she puts me in my place pretty quick and then I back off! Due to the amount of exercise I like to do, I would drink all the water in Lake Michigan if you let me. My foster family limits me to small amounts of water at a time so that I don’t throw up on their floor! While I am very active, I am not terribly great at stairs, I can leap up the stairs in my lioness leaps but I do have a harder time going down the stairs.
So let me tell you about my perfect home …. Lots of APPLES. Sorry.. I got distracted! My ideal home would be one where the family has the time to spend with me. I am OK in my cage or being left alone for a few hours, but I do not want to be caged anymore for long periods of time. I want a yard where I can go out and play fetch or just run around and be silly. While I can be a guy’s guy, I also am very sweet to females and kids – I love just about everyone! So it’s time to sign off and wake up from my dream that had me roaming around an apple orchard!

Dozer’s adoption criteria are as follows:
Must live within the CEBR adoption radius
Limited alone time – dog walker or flexible work arrangement work fine
Kids and other dogs are OK
Limited number of stairs

Dozer's adoption fee is $635
