Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chispita is a Sato, found on the streets of Puerto Rico. Satos make wonderful family pets, friendly and loyal companions. This pup came to us with a history of vomiting solid food. She was placed in a foster home in NJ, and started on a liquid diet, with a presumed diagnosis of megasesophagus. She thrived with the wonderful care that she got, and has now seen a specialist, who confirmed the diagnosis. She needs surgery to remove a ring of blood vessels which are obstructing the flow of food. This is a very costly surgery, but without it she may one day aspirate her food and die. We are raising funds to pay for her surgery, with a goal of January 2015.
All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet.
Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl.
Initial contact with us must be made through e-mail.
E-mail ARFofMercer@gmail.com for an adoption application or with any questions. Once your adoption application is approved, you will be invited to meet our dogs/puppies.
