Hi ya! My name is Patch. A couple of weeks ago, my brother Pumpkin and I were looking for shelter. It was really cold outside. We found a hole in a wall and Pumpkin got stuck. I stayed with him, sitting on a windowsill above the hole, crying for help. Luckily, someone heard me and they were able to pull Pumpkin out of the hole. We were shivering and so hungry. The nice lady took us inside and warmed us up, gave us yummy food and some water. We slept better that night than ever before. The nice lady named me Patch because I have an orange spot on my head. My brother is an orange tabby, so she named him Pumpkin, together, we are Pumpkin & Patch. Pretty cute, huh? I am eager to meet new people. When anyone enters the room I am in, I start to purr immediately. I love to play with any toy you give to me and I love my brother lots too. I am a female kitten who will be spayed soon. I use a litterbox like a good girl and I just want someone to love me for life. And if my brother Pumpkin can come too, then all my wishes will have come true. Adoption fee: $100. Adopt a pair: $150. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter and 30 days of free pet insurance.

- Thursday, November 13: Food & Drinks Fundraiser, Social House, 6139 Haggerty Rd., West Bloomfield Township. Do you plan to eat food and/or drink beverages on Thursday, November 13th? We thought you might. And, we just know that you'll want to do that during Paws for Life Day at the Social House Pub, open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Just download this certificate and bring it with you to lunch, happy hour, dinner or late night on Nov. 13th and Paws for Life will receive a charitable donation in the amount of 20% of your total amount purchased. What a great way to support a great cause! After all, ya gotta eat!
- Third Saturday of Every Month: Adoption Event at Petco, 4820 S. Baldwin Rd, Lake Orion/Auburn Hills. From noon to 4 p.m., come meet adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens (as available). A selection of adoptable cats and kittens live at the store full-time and you can see them any time the store is open: Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sundays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Adoption event dates for 2014: November 15 and December 20.

Registration opens at 5 p.m. Game play begins at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome. We will have food, raffle table, 50/50, adoptable pets, Scentsy sale and more! The bar will be open for drink purchases too. If you haven't played BUNCO, which is a very simple and super fun dice game, you haven't lived! It won't take you but a moment to learn the game and away we go, laughing, playing and raising money for the homeless pets of Paws for Life. See you December 7th in Rochester!
Adoption and Foster Care Application
Adoption Process:Complete the application at
www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
