My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This adorable little guy is Yoda but he goes by the name Bogie! He's a sweet boy who's looking for a Special Forever Home who will love him for the rest of his life. He's a Chihuahua Mix who's approximately 12 years old and was rescued from a terrible situation where he'd been living outside most of his life, starved & neglected, covered in fleas & ticks, with a broken tail and his little head bigger than normal. We weren't sure this little nugget was going to make it! The first week he spent at his Foster Home, he slept the whole time and wouldn't get up or walk, not even to eat, drink or go outside. His Foster Mom would bring his food to him then pick him & take him outside. She gave him so much love & continuous care and after a week, Bogie started moving on his own! He came when he was called and responded to his name! And we had been told he was deaf! That day was a huge breakthrough and he's been enjoying life ever since, thriving and happy to be loved while waiting for his Forever Home!

Since he was an older guy when he was rescued, Bogie has not been neutered or vaccinated. He gets along nicely with his Foster Mom's dog and is great with kids & cats!

Bogie is a true sweetheart who really loves his people. When his Foster Mom comes home from work, that little broken tail wags like crazy! He likes getting attention and belly rubs & ear rubs make him a very happy boy. He's playful and enjoys it when the weather is nice outside so he can run around the yard. He doesn't like going outside if it's cold or chilly and putting a sweater on him won't help as this little munchkin does not like wearing clothes even though we told him he'd look wonderful.

We're happy to say Bogie will never be hungry again! This cutie pie isn't thin anymore and he loves his food! Purina One Small Bites is his favorite food and he can't get enough of cooked sweet potatoes. He's not a barker but occasionally when the other dogs in the house are barking, he'll toss in a bark or two! It's pretty cute to see!

Bogie has special needs and requires extra care & attention. He's not house trained as he has a hard time holding his bladder. He has shaky legs and has problems navigating stairs and needs to be carried up or down them. He tends to get frightened when he's picked up, but his Foster Mom will hold him close so his legs aren't as shaky and he won't try to jump out of fear. He doesn't sit on hard floors because of his legs and only sits on his bed. He's such an sweet guy but he's timid and really wouldn't be happy taking a walk or going places. At this stage in his life, he'd really love to spend his days & nights with his loved ones, napping, eating yummy food, being warm and feeling loved & cherished in his own little world. And, his Foster Mom has offered to watch him anytime his Forever Family goes out of town because he wouldn't do well in a boarding facility or kennel.
