Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Sometimes, life is just a bowl of cherries. Before I got to the El Cajon Animal Shelter, I was living in the pits. Hello, my name is NELLIE, and I'm a two-year-old Lhasa Apso mix with a loving and sensitive soul. When I got here, my fur was horribly matted and I was very scared. A nice groomer gave me a lovely hair cut, and everybody here treats me with kindness. I'm feeling a little better about life every day. I enjoy sitting in laps, and I've even started going on walks with the volunteers. I very much hope to find a quiet, adult home where I can finally relax and be the wonderful little sweetie-pie that you'll love with all your heart. I just need somebody who can look behind my beautiful eyes and see the happy girl who wants to come out of her shell. I get along with other dogs who are calm and respectful, and the shelter staff believes that I've probably already been house trained. I hope you'll come to the shelter to visit me. I'll probably hang back in my kennel, so please ask the shelter staff if we can visit in the nice play yard that they have here. Maybe you could sit under a nice shade tree, and then I can sit in your lap for awhile. See you soon! Love, Nellie" Kennel #60
