Patch's Story...

Patch is a sleek black kitten with a tiny white spot on his chest (hence his name), and he is definitely a thinker. His beautiful yellow eyes (just the color of some of the autumn leaves) keenly observe the world around him, taking note of everything that happens. Patch will patiently watch a toy being wiggled around in front of him until he's determined the best way to pounce on it, and when his siblings play he carefully analyzes their strengths and weaknesses so that when he joins in he can quickly get the upper hand. One thing that never escapes his attention is the sound or smell of cat treats, of which he is an avid aficionado. Patch is a quiet boy who is a tad shy, but if picked up and held will instantly begin to purr and snuggle in.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Patch, a Alexandria Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Alexandria, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Alexandria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alexandria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alexandria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alexandria paves the way for another one to be saved.
